We Found Our Furever Home!

Charlie’s Place - the Clear Creek/Gilpin Co. Animal Shelter, has found homes for more than 2,500 dogs & cats since opening their doors in 2007. These are just some of the stories about the lives Charlie's Place alumni have shared with their adoptive parents.

Glenn

This picture says it all! Glenn is a deaf cattle dog was surrendered to Charlie's Place. He's now in a loving home.

Ghost

Ghost snuggling with his new parent! He was the most popular dog Charlie's Place has ever had.

Newsy & Tabitha

Newsy & Tabitha were adopted together and adjusted to their new home pretty much right away. They are the sweetest cuddle buddies and nearly inseparable ... everywhere Newsy goes, Tabitha is sure soon to follow. I'm so glad we decided to adopt them together, because they really are total pals.

Panama

Panama's mom, "Tomorrow will be 8 years since I adopted my guy from Charlie's place everyday I'm grateful to be with him."

Benson

Benson is a true success story. A year ago he landed in a kill shelter, on the euthanasia list, with a severe leg injury. A kind man, offered to pay his vet bill, and Benson (and his leg) was saved. Benson was adopted last July 2017 and has been doing great ever since.

Tiger

Tiger was one of the first dogs that arrived at Charlie's Place. He was at the shelter for nearly 2 years. His parents found him when they began to volunteer at Charlie's Place. At the time Tiger had a roommate who had gotten adopted. His parents felt bad that he would be lonely so they took him home to foster and never brought him back!
